Abstract: This article discusses the intentions of a writer who returns to his home town, Medellin, with the aim of dying there, and the complex relationships resulting from that trip. While in Medellin, he gets acquainted with people belonging to a different imaginary (‘sicarios' without formal education), the intellectual traveler joins a milieu in which violent practices dominate the disordered urban geography of Medellin's society. The purpose of this discussion is to give evidences that for Vallejo, the narrator, the trip is nothing more than a stratagem of the Narcissus in need of pleasure and scandal to continue a live in a journey.
