Abstract

This paper analyzes the studies and essays written by the Colombian critic Rafael Gutiérrez Girardot about the poet León de Greiff. Gutiérrez Girardot’s works offer a qualitative assessment of the interpretations made by León de Greiff about the development of Colombian literature since the late nineteenth century until the first half of the twentieth century in relation to the different movements and trends that emerged in the country.

Author Biography

Andrés Felipe Quintero, University of Heidelberg

Master's student in translation (Übersetzungswissenschaften) at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Hispanist philologist from the University of Antioquia. He works as a translator and teacher of Latin and German. Member of the research group Studies of Latin American Literature and Intellectual Culture (GELCIL). Translator of "On the schools of Greek poetry" by Friedrich Schlegel, in Mutatis Mutandis. Latin American Translation Magazine 2 (2) and translator for the e-book “Phantastische Entgegnungen” by Selnich Vivas.
