Tal vez el punto de confluencia entre el imaginario caribeño y lo negro-popular sea la música, el baile. Alguna vez me preguntaron en un coloquio si me consideraba un hombre del Caribe. Realmente, no lo sé, conteste, solo sé que soy un hombre del Caribe, y negro, cuando estoy bailando. Pero entonces no lo pienso, simplemente lo experimento. No es imposible pensar que ese sentido del ritmo, de alguna manera, alimente mi poesía. No creo que, decir esto, sea forzar las cosas. Es lo mismo que ver caminar, pregonar o simplemente hablar a las palenqueras por las calles de Cartagena. Allí está: el sentido del ritmo. Puede percibirse en el poema “Un hombre de piel negra”, que me permito citar: “Un hombre de piel negra danza/ con un pie en el corazón/ y el otro más allá/ en el asiento espesísimo del alma/ Acampado en el baile/ hila su vasto cielo”. El baile es, por esencia, el lugar mítico. El lugar donde acampa el ser, el instante donde el ser retorna al centro.

Therefore, this requirement must be met by the authors upon receipt of the manuscript.
- The authors retain moral rights and transfer their economic rights to Estudios de Literatura Colombiana, which will correspond to the Universidad de Antioquia, to publish the articles on the website, brochures, social networks, distribute electronic copies, include them in indexing services, directories, national and international database repositories, under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 4.0 International Commercial License (CC BY-NC-SA).
- The authors will sign the declaration of transfer of economic rights to the Estudios de Literatura Colombiana, after acceptance of the manuscript.
