The journalistic chronicles of Alfonso Fuenmayor are closely related to the urban environment of Barranquilla. From a psychosocial approach and certain theories or the cultural studies, we will analyze how certain elements that appeal to the urban identity construction are conjugated, finding its foundation in the relationship with that urban environment itself. We will study a plurality of points of view, and the dynamics in the role of the chronicler to reveal his project of identity formation, firmly anchored in notions of tradition and progress and rooted in elements of the Caribbean popular culture.
