Actividad industrial y apertura: los casos de Antioquia y Valle

En este artículo se presenta, de un amanera cualitativa, el desenvolvimiento de la industria en los departamentos de Antioquia y Valle en el período 1975-1989, enfatizando en aspectos concernientes a la restructuración productiva, la flexibilización del empleo y las diferencias en términos de eficiencia asociada a factores de especialización y de ventajas comparativas. A continuación, utilizando modelos de equilibrio parcial sectorial se cuantifican los impactos que la apertura comercial tiene sobre la producción, el empleo, los márgenes de ganancia y se determina el esfuerzo de productividad necesario para mantener competitivo al aparato industrial de los departamentos en cuestión.
