The close relation between men and his territory, between literature and its region, is studied by Zapata Olivella from an ethnic, anthropologic, esthetic, historical and social perspective, based on legacies from different continents, geography and traditional expressions. That’s why regions are very important in the books of the Colombian writer, directly linked with the ethnic groups that live in them. The notions of literature as a creative faculty of the human being and of regions as cultural spaces are read in an open way, in order to search for diverse relationships between regions, ethnicity and literature.
