.Abstract
El Grupo de Estudios Lingüísticos Regionales (GELIR), de la Facultad de Co-municaciones de la Universidad de Antioquia, ha venido investigando, desde su fundación en 1995, la variedad del español hablado en Antioquia, uno de los departamentos más extensos y poblados del país, y con diferencias culturales y lin-güísticas bastante marcadas entre sus pobladores. Por su extensión, tiene influencia y contacto con los pobladores de territorios tan disímiles como el Chocó (en la Costa Pacífica), Bolívar y Córdoba (en la Costa Atlántica), Santander y Boyacá (en el Magdalena Medio), sin tener en cuenta Caldas y Risaralda, por pertenecer a la misma variedad dialectal.
