Sergio Rojas (Antofagasta, Chile, 1960) es Profesor Titular del Departamento de Teoría de las Artes de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile. Es filósofo y doctor en literatura y ha sido profesor visitante en la Universidad París VIII (Francia), la Texas A&M University (Estados Unidos), la Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia), la Universidad de Costa Rica y la Universidad de Val-ladolid (España), y ha dictado conferencias en diversas universidades en América Latina, Europa y Estados Unidos. Su trabajo —en áreas como la filosofía del sujeto, la estética, la teoría crítica— procura no usar las obras de arte y de literatura como terreno de aplicación o validación de unas concepciones filosóficas. Lo que busca, más bien —así lo explicó en una conferencia en 2015—, es dejarse provocar por las obras y luego responder a esa provocación, indagando qué problemas o preguntas son los que ellas plantean o abordan.
