This article puts forward a study about Blanca Varela’s poetry having as category of argumentation the presence of melancholy in the construction of a multiple lyrical voice. Poems and fragments of her work are cited to demonstrate the construction of an environment in constant disappointment and uneasiness. It also reflects on how the melancholic lyrical voice manifests in the enunciation of spaces and how the subject in constant doubt and inquiry resorts to the antithesis and contradiction of the concept to build meaning.
