MOTHERHOOD/FILIATION AND AGING/OLD AGE IN ELENA FERRANTE'S LOST DAUGHTER AND PALOMA VIDAL'S BLUE SEA

This paper analyzes A filha perdida (Elena Ferrante) e Mar azul (Paloma Vidal) sob o viés da reconstrução da memoria reconstruction by the themes of «motherhood and filiation» and «ageing and old age». The methodology of analysis of the novels is bibliographical research. References on memory (Candau, 2016), motherhood, and old age (Robles, 2019; Beauvoir, 1970) were consulted. The novels will be analyzed based on the protagonists’ memories, especially with regard to these themes. The study aims to promote a dialog between Italian (European) and Brazilian (Latin American) narratives, thus commenting on some of the themes of the contemporary novel written by women.
