Myth and science on discursive representation of air balon inventors and of first aeronauts in texts writen by peninsular spanish speakers
Abstract: This paper presents a first approach to the discursive representation of air balloon inventors and of first aeronauts in texts written by peninsular Spanish speakers at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. Taking under consideration the vocabulary, the article shows how the image of both groups is constructed in relation to the representation of three other social groups: the poets, the scientists and the general society, that is to say, the witnesses of the first aerostatic ascensions.
