Abstract

The goal of this paper is to systematically explain the main ideas related to the political liberalism pointed out by the philosopher John Rawls. In this sense, the document takes the concept of justice as fairness as the axis on which all the justification is developed, since this concept comprises fundamental ideas related to the liberalism presented here. Throughout the different sections I explain the model of a well-ordered society —a society which aspires to be just— by explaining some fundamental ideas such as the basic structure, the original position and the overlapping consensus. Moreover, I explain the political conception of person and the idea of the society as a system of mutual cooperation and how it fits into the justification of a well-ordered society
