Abstract

Aim: to determine the correlation between coordinating capacities and explosive strength in school students of Liceo Leon de Greiff (Tunja, Colombia). Method: 105 students participated (55 boys, 50 girls). Their mean age was 14 ± 1.3 years. The anthropometric evaluation was performed in size and weight. The coordinating capacities were evaluated with the Lorenzo Camineiro test and the explosive strength capacity using the vertical jump test (lower limbs) and ball throw (upper limbs). Results and Conclusions: The results abstained between the cordinative capacity variables and vertical jump show that there has no correlation in any of the two sexes. Between the coordinative capacity variable and launch ball, boys showed a low correlation p=0.0031; p<0.05; r=0.3912) and girls didn´t show any correlation between these variables.
