Abstract

Objective: To identify the education needs of Physical Education teachers graduated from UPEL Maracay, who work in the municipality of Zamora, Aragua state, on theoretical and practical knowledge in exercise physiology. Method: Field research of descriptive type, with population and sample of 30 teachers, graduates of physical education at the Pedagogical Institute Rafael Escobar Lara of Maracay, who work in the mentioned educational centers.
The data collection techniques were the literature review and the survey. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire was used, with a dichotomous scale of two alternative answers (Yes, No). The technique of data analysis was carried out by tabulating the data through statistical tables, applying relative percentage frequency for its quantification through circular graphs. Results: The information collected leads to reflect on the training needs of physical education teachers in exercise physiology, which teachers attribute to a marked decontextualization of the program against the practical activity of teachers; the educational offer for the professional update in the subject is scarce and the teachers of the area lack interest in this sense, since the physiology of the exercise is an element of great relevance, facilitating the actions in the pedagogical environment.
