Abstract

The exercise is related with the shape, quantity and proportion of the segments and tissues that composes the athlete body. Each sport has its own structure and body silhouette characteristics to achieve a good sports performance. The physical characteristics in professional women’s football team are diverse, in which it is recognized several intermittent work efforts and high intensity, these physical characteristics at university level are reflected in less extent. Aim: This study aims to characterize physical, anthropometric and somatotype abilities of women’s football team at Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia in Chiquinquirá. Method: This study follows the protocol established by International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK), so that it is determined the body composition by Kerr method. To establish the somatotype was used Heath & Carter model. Physical characteristics were evaluated, through test to measure force (abdominal, lumbar, arm (flexo-extension)), speed (20-40 m.); agility (coordinative ability) through Illinois test. Results: The results showed that the average in relation to body mass 54 Kg (± 1Kg) and % MA, MO, MM, 17,11%, 15,39%, 46,59% respectively. It was obtained an average in relation to the masses; its classification of somatotype average is endomesomorphic, the abdominal force average showed 24 repetitions, lumbar force 23.9 repetitions, elbow flexo-extension had 17.4 repetitions; speed in 20 m. was 4.3 s and in 40 m. was 7,2 s. Conclusion: The findings can determine, from the perspective of training, which aspects are likely to improve in the team.
