Abstract

Aim: Analyze the effect of a training plan with ballast on lunge gesture in fencing, and its improvement in distance. Method: Study with quasi-experimental design. The choice of groups was done intentionally; a sample of 5 fencers, 3 junior category and 2 higher category was selected, and a control group was formed with the same number of athletes. Results: no significant differences were found from the statistical point of view, but from the practical point of view, the experimental group presented improvements between 7 and 14 centimeters away lunge gesture in the fourth week, although some subjects in this group attended stimuli irregularly, or had injuries. Conclusion: to maintain profits resisted work should be done in 1 to 2 stimuli of this training. A 4-week training plan, with resistance concentrated loads of the lunge are sufficient to achieve improvements.
