development, innervation pattern, hind limb, rat embryoAbstract
This work describes the pattern of rat embryo hind limb innervation. Especially in relation to the lumbosacral plexus and femoral, ciatic, tibial, fibular, and plantar nerves. The methodology used (3D reconstruction at different developmental stages) allowed a better visualization of this biological phenomenon and its connection to other structures and tissues like cartilage, sensory ganglia and spinal cord, as all these structures and nerves change over time as well as spacially. The 3D model generated will be useful for other studies on this research field, and it also represents an educational tool that simply and clearly illustrates this complex phenomenon.
