From the bark of Fagara rhoifolia (Lam.) Engl. , two terpenes were isolated and identified, the sugar sucrase, the alkaloid skimmianin and the flavonoid hesperidin. The problem of the Fagara and Zanthoxylum genera is also discussed from a chemotaxonomic point of view.
