El empirismo inglés, el humanismo francés, la filosofía crítica y el espíritu absoluto alemán marcan un norte en el devenir del pensamiento occidental. Sin embargo, un nuevo vector emerge en Norte América, bajo la solidez de un trípode conformado por James, Dewey y Peirce, quienes pondrán en el horizonte sugerentes soluciones a los problemas que las demás propuestas filosófico-lógicas no habían podido resolver.
