Psychoanalysis in the early work of Michel Foucault. From phenomenology to negativity

This paper aims to reconstruct the intellectual itinerary of Michel Foucault's work regarding its relations to psychoanalysis in the 1950s. According to our hypothesis, Foucault resorted to psychoanalysis in order to use it ambiguously. Thus, psychoanalysis would have been helpful to the development of his criticism of naturalistic psychology and would stand as an alternative to the readings that consider man in terms of a homo natura. At the same time, psychoanalysis is the object of philosophical and Marxist criticism.
