Abstract

Rafael Sáenz Moreno, painter and teacher, was one of the last children of the Sánez Moreno household, a family of tradition belonging to eastern Antioquia, with outstanding roots in the 19th century. His artistic training was received at the School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture of the Institute of Fine Arts Influenced by the teacher Humberto Chavez, he recognized the artistic contributions that were given to him by the painters of universal history, as well as by other local artists such as Pedro Nel Gómez and Carlos Correa. He was more than a renowned painter, an educating artist.
