Saber y ser competente no es lo mismo

Starting by the analysis of the meaning of “competence”, this paper shows that the inclusion of this concept in education applies not only to a technicist pedagogy (a behaviourist remain) but also to the humanist tradition which disguises the govern-ment of poverty by embracing man and his abilities, while separating him from knowledge and technique, from the scientific and technical world, which is our world. This paper opposes the propositi n above through a reflexion upon knowledge as a key factor in education and in the making of truly critical citizens ready to challenge power in the social game.Downloads
