Abstract: Taking into account that the topos of the violence is an axial point in the Colombian Literature, the present article seeks to define the novels Catalina (1963), Estaba la pájara pinta sentada en su verde limón (1975) y Delirio (2004) as belonging to this practice. After revising links between the feminine corporeal as a symbolic space of the alterity and the space for allegoric representation of the nation, it is argued how the body of the main female characters represents, in a metonymical way, the ill nation: from infertility to delirium.
