Based on Judith Butler’s gender performativity theory and contributions from authors like Teresa de Lauretis, Jean Baudrillard and Severo Sarduy, this article presents an analysis of the construction of transvestite-drag femininity represented in Al diablo la maldita primavera and Locas de felicidad. To this end, it’s proposed the “transvestite fantasy” as a phenomenon that makes the Diva’s beauty and sensuality the ideal model to build new corporal aesthetics that allow to overcome poverty and exclusion, and to outline a process of transvestite empowerment.
