This paper ventures to understand some complex cultural relationsships that were arose by the editors of Mito (Bogotá 1955-1962); attempting to throw light on various affiliations and breaking points. The discussion examines the fact that standing in favor or against Ortega y Gasset and Alfonso Reyes, who are two of the most well known twentieth century intellectuals, was significant in that it showed a stance in favor of a particular notion of literature.
