Abstract

As with the previous winners, Richard Rorty and Levi-Strauss, it seems pertinent to reflect on the fact that this award wants to remember precisely the Master Eckhart. Rorty was inclined towards a negative demarcation: he would see himself as an atheist and for Eckhart "only God counted and nothing else." This statement is correct, but it covers up an aspect that Levi-Strauss touched on when noting that in Eckhart there are correspondences with Zen Buddhism.
