Aim and Scope
Presentation
Estudios de Filosofía is the journal published by the Institute of Philosophy at the Universidad de Antioquia. It is an international peer-reviewed, open-access, electronic journal and adheres to the policy of double-blind peer review. Since its foundation in 1990, Estudios de Filosofía has been conceived as a specialized medium for the promotion and dissemination of research in all fields of philosophy at national and international levels. The journal accepts papers in Spanish and English.
Aims
The journal Estudios de Filosofía seeks to disseminate research results, both locally and internationally. Likewise, it is conceived as a space for academic debate, both on problems concerning the history of this discipline and its contemporary discussions. It also aims to foster the dissemination of philosophy studies in the form of original production, comments, replicas, reviews, or translations, promoting the exchange of ideas and opinions, and discussion among collaborating authors.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Estudios de Filosofía are peer-reviewed according to the following procedure:
Initial review: The editor-in-chief evaluates each manuscript to determine if its topic and content are suitable for publication in Estudios de Filosofía. Because the focus of the journal is directed towards research and discussion of research results, the texts submitted must show knowledge of the specialized bibliography on the topic and discussion with it. Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum criteria are returned to the authors within one week of receipt.
Peer review: Each manuscript that has been accepted for review by the editor is blindly reviewed by at least two anonymous external reviewers. Reviewers are required to manifest any impediment or conflict that could affect the impartial evaluation. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript according to its originality, argumentative quality, novelty of its thesis, and use of original sources and updated literature. All our reviewers are external to our institution.
Recommendation: Based on the reviewers' comments, the editor makes a final decision and communicates it to the authors. The final decision can be "Accepted", "Accepted, subject with minor revisions", "Accepted, subject with major revisions", and "Rejected". A revised manuscript should be re-submitted within the next three months. It will usually be returned to the original reviewers after resubmission. The evaluation process normally takes between 3 and 4 months.
There is no publishing or article processing charge (APC).
