Abstract

The article reflects on the theory of the criticism of literature, according to an essay of W. Benjamin, titled Two poems of Holderlin (1915). The central topics are the metaphysical foundation of the poetic production and their critical reproduction. This second task will always be for the critical reader an experiment. The author reconstructs the complex theory of the poetologie calculus of W. Benjamin, and sets how can·be considered as examples of the critical task two versions of a poem of Holderlin on the topic "the poet's death."
