The importance of the Camino Real of Mexico to Veracruz, evident since the beginning of the colonization of what will be the new Spain, it will be significantly noticeable during the 17th and 18th centuries due to the conjunction of economic, political, social and military factors that they will impact at all levels of novohispana society, and only it will be decreased until the 20th century, from the policies of industrialization of federal and state Governments, that will promote the use of new modes of production and the need for new ways of communication, which will be setting aside agricultural production and the old routes, in the name of modernity and progress
