Abstract

This  paper  presents  the  discourse  of  creativity  as  a  biopolitical  dispositif that offers new identity construction ways and, therefore, existing ways in the consumer society. For this, we approach to the rising of travel blogs, which suggests an alternative consumption. Travel  blog  discourses,  to  a  greater  or  lesser  extent,  emphasize  a “creative  living”,  since  when  economic  resources  —means  of production— are not anymore guided by capital, natural resources or manpower. Instead, are created conditions for the emergence of the “creative individual”, people who, through creativity, forge new ways of working, traveling and living, etc. Thus, we consider that  creativity  gets  a  preponderant  place  in  contemporary  media  discourse and, by analyzing the travel blogs, we see what we call “creativity discourse,” which promotes calls for the “invention” of alternative ways of living and consuming.
