Ciudad, comprensión y pensamiento complejo

Cities have emerged and been consolidated a s sociocultural spaces after the interventions and transformations they had in the hands of the people who inhabit them, which for several reasons install themselves to watch, live, intervene and transform a city. In each city’s metamorphosis a multitude of cities blooms in order to constitute the whole, and from such whole a map emerges which, under the view of complex thinking, reveals a chaotic, interconnected, multidiverse and ever-changing world. In this scenario, we approach the topic of cities in order to integrate man and his reality, including chaos, bad luck, uncertainty and comprehension. This paper analyses the concept of city and reviews the multiple factors in its formation process (appearance, consolidation, other cities within a city, intersubjectivities, transculturation, tensions, urbanism), as well as the relations established and the subjacent imaginaries. A city is not a finished, static whole, but a process which in its coming-to-be marks the direction of a unique configuration with a unique imprint carried by every person that lives in it, in an immeasurable labyrinth. To sum up, the cities embrace the diverse and the complex as an attempt to suture its essence, thus unvealing the hope for better life as well as the tensions of uncertainty.
