Since its creation as the highest monetary, exchange rate, and credit authority under the 1991 Constitution, the Board of Directors of the Banco de la República has undoubtedly been the country's most respected and respectable economic institution. The following is a summary of the most relevant discussions and decisions over the last three decades, including the corporation's relations and struggles with the governments in power, and the anecdotes of the election of co-directors during presidential terms.
