Elements to desing an integral education policy: the Colombian case

Este artículo presenta lineamientos generales para diseñar una política educativa desde la perspectiva económica. El artículo comienza haciendo una breve descripción de la estructura y evolución del sector educativo colombiano con una visión internacional. En segundo lugar, se hace un análisis de la distribución de los subsidios que representa el gasto público en educación, mostrando su grado de progresividad o regresividad. Por otra parte, el autor presenta el sector educativo dentro de un contexto de competitividad internacional destacando el proceso de apertura económica en que se ha embarcado Colombia. Finalmente, se definen algunas recomendaciones de política educativa.
