ABSTRACT By studying the use of secrets in Le Chevalier au Lion of Chrétien de Troyes, we attempt to shoe that its function is to delay, in some circumstances, the sharp and fast circulation of information, regarded as natural within the plot. Since there is no such naturalness, we hold that the model of circulation extrapolated is that of the court, and what is concealed is its crowding and lack of privacy. Our aim is to analyze the ideological nature of that model.Downloads
