This paper aims to point out some differences between literature and press and the way of telling stories with a social content, taking into account the novel Los ejércitosby the Colombian writer Evelio Rosero. To this purpose, reference frames consider some approaches, regarding the notion of commitment, both in literature and in the press, proposed by Sartre and Adorno. Some allusions to Van Dijk are made and the way that he characterizes the journalistic discourse.
