Abstract

This research project reveals the importance of a context intended for the retrieval of retired teachers’ pedagogical memory, and it inquires about the role of such professional experience in the formation of younger teachers. I use an experiential approach, which is articulated to the narratives of retiring teachers’ pedagogical career, by using the device of narrative documentation of pedagogical experiences and trips (Suárez, 2007), in a hermeneutical and narrative context. This device inquires about the knowledge that teachers own and produce during their education experience, and about the senses and meanings they find in such knowledge when they understand it or try to explain it. In this polyphonic place, the role of retired teachers’ professional wisdom is interpreted by means of participative observation and analysis of the stories written by them, in order to re-create the meaning of professional career and identity

Doctorate in Education at the University of Buenos Aires. Master's degree in psychology. Postgraduate in Psychopedagogy. Speech Therapist. Author of various articles on older adults. Researcher and member of the Network for teacher training and pedagogical narratives.
