Latin America’s time of educational sovereignty

Abstract

This article presents a Latin American context having a neoliberal political focus —particularly the Argentinean crisis during the early XXI century—, by means of problematic relations that connect educative systems to economical powers and to the environments of production, mediation and diffusion of culture. Even though the author is aware of the decline of popular nationalisms, this analysis bets on for educational sovereignty in Latin America, as an exercise of freedom and resistance that appreciates the democratizing power of education in the continent.
