Abstract

This article describes an example of application of strategies that contribute to overcoming social exclusion within the territory, specifically in two outlying neighborhoods  of a Spanish province’s capital city, in a scale that goes from the school milieu up to the proposal of urban transformation. This experience narrates how the implementation of educative activities that have been successful in overcoming social exclusion at an educative center in a city´s degraded area has had repercussions in the territory, so that it has made it possible to integrate educative transformation and urban regeneration from an integrated approach of sustainable development. From the successful performances identified in the European research project Includ-ED, a participative method has been developed, based on the contract of dialogic inclusion, in order to advance jointly and collectively towards social inclusion.
