Abstract

In this paper we will expose Wittgenstein's comments about what is an ethical situation and what is an ethical problem. For the philosopher Viennese a situation is ethical when an individual is forced to take a terrible decision opposite to a tragic dilemma, whose consequences will affect his life from this point. An ethical problem, on the other hand, is that a grim dilemma which breaks into the life of this individual. The paper will begin with the analysis of the hypothesis according to which any situation is ethical This analysis will allow the introduction and explanation of the concept of form of life. Then we will refute this hypothesis with the synthesis of the wittgensteinian notions of involuntary, voluntary and regular acts, in order to accentuate the voluntary nature of an ethical situation. Finally, we will show Wittgenstein's comments about the ethical situation and the ethical problem
