Abstract

This preliminary research was carried out to determine the composition of secondary metabolites in leaves offive genotypes of tomato tree(Cyphomandra betacea), and their role against pathogenic fungi Colletotrichumgloeosporioides, causal agent of the known disease Antracnosis. Several chemical differences were detectedin the leaves of some genotype and high antibiotic activity was observed too, suggesting an active role ofthese substances in the plant chemical defence
