Psychoanalysis and political philosophy: an optimal dyad for explaining colombian electoral behavior

This paper is an approach to the thinking of the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek and his Lacanian foundations on the conception of the other. It is also an interpretation of how the current Venezuelan migratory crisis influenced the vote in favor of the presidential candidate Iván Duque during the 2018 Colombian elections. It is the result of the research project “A comparative analysis of the main theoretical currents of contemporary multiculturalism: capitalism, subjectivity, and human rights,” financed by the Research and Development Office of the Universidad Católica de Oriente.
