The Devil as a Recurrent Figure in Two Novels of Germán Espinosa: Los cortejos del diablo and Aitana

This article will analyze the role that Devil's figure carries out in two novels of the Colombian writer Germán Espinosa (Cartagena, 1938-Bogotá, 2007), in the novels Los cortejos del diablo and Aitana, the author uses the Devil's figure to support two subjects that were fundamentals throughout his career: the conflict between different cultural elements in the colonial Colombia and the problem of good and evil in the Colombian contemporary society. He also shows the evolution of this figure in the occidental history.
