La violencia en Medellín como tema literario contemporáneo

Resumen: Este artículo explora las condiciones de creación literaria en una ciudad azotada por la violencia, se describen las diferentes posiciones que varios escritores han tomado ante estos acontecimientos y se destacan los puntos de vista que han tomado ante la escritura: escribir en, desde y sobre Medellín, así como la propia experiencia de la escritura. Se analiza la presencia de la violencia en algunas obras, casi todas de carácter literario, que dan cuenta de este fenómeno en la ciudad, en especial en las últimas dos décadas; y en ellas se examinan los narradores, los protagonistas y los conflictos en que éstos participan, con el propósito de encontrar posibles sentidos en las obras a partir de sus recursos literarios sobresalientes.

Abstract: This article explores the conditions of literary creation in a city dominated by violence. It describes the various positions some writers assume in front of the events and emphasizes on their diverse points of view about writing in, from and about Medellín, as well as their own experience of writing. Several novels from the last two decades are addressed, and in all of them narrators, main characters and the conflicts they live are examined. The final purpose is to find possible meanings in the novels departing from their major literary strategies.
