Abstract

Kant often recurs to the term Gemüt in his Critique of Pure Reason but he never defmes it. Other terms such as consciousness, imagination or intuition to which Kant devoted bis deepest thoughts have been the main topic of many interpretations while Gemüt has not. Nevertheless, this article assents that Gemüt is essential to tbe Critique and that not by chance Kant bolds tbat our cognitive faculty origins on it.
