Abstract

The context of euthanasia, as merey killing, is entirely moral and it determinates the posture and discussions this subject arises. This text looks particularly for the contributions from philosophy in order to clarify diverse views and to point out the moral believes to which they are fastened. The article focuses on three conceptions whose arguments and moral believes are analized: 1) the christian idea according to which only human life is sacred and every human life is holy; 2) the moderm moral idea based on natural foundations, which is revealed to be utilitarianism insofar as the natural effect of pity, and 3) the rational concem every man has on following rules by supposing that everybody will do it so.
