Establishing a conceptual difference is often very useful in philosophy when it serves to demarcate essential areas of the meaningful use of our language. This is the case in the effort to conceptualize the difference between first and third person perspectives, or what is also commonly called the subjective point of view and the objective point of view. Understood in relation to the different vocabularies and significant uses of language in which each of these two points of view is expressed or manifested, the difference between them has been considered as a good alternative to Cartesianism, which took the distinction between the subjective (and intimate) and the objective (and also public, external) as the result of a double constitution of the world.
