Abstract

An analysis is undertaken of the epistemological position held by Alexandre Koyré in his investigations regarding the scientific revolution of the XVIth and XVIIth Centuries, taking, as its point of departure, a study of the explanatory ideal proposed by the well known historian as being a decisive factor in the instauration and consolidation of classical science.
