The author presents some reflections on elements that promote creation and diffusion of various types of socialized or prepaid medical care. According to his judgment, there are situations that make several of those modalities unethical, namely: limitation of free choice of the physician; restrictions on the responsibilities of the latter regarding the patient’s needs; economic or political interests are put before honest patient care; and violation of professional secrecy and inadequate management of clinical charts are propitiated.
