Abstract

Sensitization, an increase in behavioral responses after repeated exposure to stimulants, occurs in the mesocorticolimbic pathway that includes the ventral tegmental area (VTA), the nucleus accumbens (NAc), hippocampus and the prefrontal cortex (PFC).
