Historia económica, Economía del TurismoAbstract
Tourism is a relevant sector in Europe (it accounts for more than 10% of its GDP and almost 12% of its employment), being even more important in countries like Spain (12% of GDP and almost 13% of employment). After the Great Recession of 2008, tourism became the main engine of the Spanish economy - due to the fall of the real estate sector. For this reason and due to the significant changes caused to digitization, the COVID-19 crisis, its restrictions, and other aspects, a systematic review is urgently needed to offer perspective and guidance to face the new challenges. In this sense, the work reviewed here is key and more than satisfies said objective.
